How do scientists make fake meat that “bleeds”?

Scientists are looking for plant proteins that can mimic the texture and qualities of animal protein. Impossible Foods derives “heme” from yeast through fermentation, so that its plant burger “bleeds” too. The theory is, that red, blood-like drip is something meat eaters want.
